Napier, ha mandato on line il suo nuovo progetto Quark, fantastico
quanto astratto lavoro ispirato a quella che fu la grande rivoluzione
della creazione del mondo. La teoria Quark, dice che una parte sottoatomica
deve essere pensata come la più semplice di tutte le parti.
Teoria Quark che è stata divisa dal teorico Gell- Mann per
esprimere le complesse interazioni delle parti subatomiche.
Quark è quindi uno studio delle possibilità dell’universo
nel quale siamo chiamati ad interagire con il pc ciccando in vari punti
e così evocando una progressiva caduta a getto di tutte le microparticelle
cosmiche. Flussi di colore così si muovono generando un lavoro che
riprende molto il contatto con la pittura. Napier ritorna così ad
un suo antico amore, come dice infatti era prima pittore, e in questo modo
ha inteso ritornare a citare una sua passione in qualche modo risitandola
in chiave “tecnologica” astratta. La risultante dell’interazione è un
progressivo sviluppo dove micro azioni e movimenti del fruitore, generano
strutture astratte, altamente colorate e continuamente modificabili.
In questo modo Napier, mi dice ancora, ritorna ai sensi, “ ritrovando
un rapporto con il mestiere dell’arte, dove i colori sono generati
dal movimento azione , e come in una pittura le azioni tracciano un disegno
che parte da tre punti ”. Punti già prestabiliti dal Napier
e quindi poi dalla macchina, in un progressivo botta e risposta con il
celebre “sentire teknologico”. Il lavoro che Napier porta avanti
da circa due anni è ospitato e realizzato in collaborazione
con The Alternative Museum.

Mark
Napier, has put
his new project "Quark Technology" online,
and it is fantastic to see how many layers of work inspired the great
revolution that is the creation of the world. Quark theory, says that
a subatomic particle must be thought of as the most basic of all particles.
Quark theory, as devised by the Gell-Mann theory, states that there must
be uniformity in order to express the complex interactions of the subatomic
particles.
"Quark Technology" is therefore a study of the possibilities of the
universe. In it we are asked to to interact with several interfaces
which at different points evoke the idea of a progressive drop along the trajectory
of all cosmic microparticles. Flows of color move, generating an image
that very much resembles the character of painting. Napier therefore
returns to his old love of painting, and in this way cites his passion
in a resilient way through a separate "technological" key.
The result of this interaction is a progressive development where micro-action
and purposeful movements, generate a layered structure, multi-colored
and in perpetual motion.
In doing this Napier seems to tell to me, "Return to your senses
again; Rediscover a relationship with the process of art , where colors
are generated by your movements. And, as in action painting, produce
a drawing that exists in space." This space is already predetermined
by Napier, and also by a computer program, creating a continual sequence
of questions and answers the celebrate what it means "to feel technological."
The work Napier has started here will take approximately two years
to complete, and is supported and produced in collaboration with
The Alternative
Museum.
